…Finding little spots like this in Penang is inspiring me to do a few “photo tours” in parts of town over the next month or two. I think I found this wall just off Chulia St, and I love the faded sign and the washing!
And I have yet to drive around the whole island of Penang *hangs head in shame*. I’ve been waiting for Mr B to join me but I don’t think he’s keen, so I’ll have to do it on my own. I’ll definitely show you the pics when I do.
… Doing not one, not two, but THREE Hash runs in recent days. Two in the jungle, one around Georgetown, one monthly “full moon” run and one run to celebrate Merdeka Day (Malaysia’s independance day). My body has held up not too badly from the experience – except for when my personal trainer made me do numerous sets of squats today. I was so inspired by my Hashing, it was the topic in my Ex-Pat Files post this week!
…This post from How Sweet It Is about baking for two people. I had an a-ha moment while reading it and realised there are ways I can indulge my love of baking and yet not have a pantry stuffed with decadent treats (because I have zero willpower). I can’t wait to experiment. Oh, and might I just say I love this girl’s blog – she’s a personal trainer with a penchant for bacon, cheese and sweet treats (she hates veggies though). She’s all about balancing the treats with the healthier stuff and it’s refreshing to read about her baking adventures and workouts. She proves you can have your cake and eat it too (as long as you do some squats or something afterwards).
…Getting new books in the post inspiring me to cook new dishes, re-think my approach to shopping and meal planning, create some mini scrapbooks and sew some new items (I should actually share some sewing stuff, but I’m too scared as what I do is pretty lame).
…I am dying to try out this bread and this bread. I’ll share with you when I do (and by share I mean show you photos. I’ll be eating these babies all by myself. With butter.)
(Okay, maybe not, since I would like to fit into my dark wash jeans again this year. Maybe Mr B will get a look-in…)
…The end of this post made me laugh out loud tonight. Dang, this woman is a talented writer, I just love her “voice” and can only hope my own writing is imbued with such humour and warmth.

I am so glad that post inspired you! And thank you so much for the sweet words.
